Terms of Sale

We've written these terms so they're actually readable. Not to hide things in legal language, but to be clear about what you're agreeing to and what we're committing to — on both sides.

Last updated: June 2026 Cotswolds, England Governed by English Law
The short version

Deposit

Secures your chosen puppy. Non-refundable if you change your mind, but transferable to another puppy if we have one available.

5-year health guarantee

Against hereditary and congenital conditions covered by our DNA testing programme. Full terms in Section 5.

Collection only

We don't use courier services or third-party delivery. Your puppy goes home with you, in person, from our home in the Cotswolds.

We stay in touch

Our responsibility doesn't end at collection. We're reachable after your puppy goes home and take all welfare concerns seriously.

Section 01

About us

Miles Maltipoo is a licensed dog breeder operating from our family home in the Cotswolds, England. We are licensed by our local authority under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 and hold a 5 Star breeder rating.

These terms of sale form a legally binding agreement between Miles Maltipoo ("we", "us", "our") and the purchaser ("you", "the buyer") upon payment of a deposit or purchase price. By making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full.

If anything in these terms is unclear, please ask before you commit. We'd far rather take the time to explain something than have a misunderstanding later.

Section 02

Reservation & deposit

A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to reserve a specific puppy from a litter. This deposit forms part of the total purchase price and is deducted from the balance due on collection.

Non-refundable deposit

The deposit is non-refundable if you withdraw from the purchase for any reason other than those outlined under our health guarantee. This includes a change of personal circumstances, change of mind, or failure to collect within the agreed timeframe.

If you are unable to collect your puppy within the agreed window through no fault of your own, please contact us as early as possible. We will try to accommodate a short extension where the puppy's welfare is not affected. Extended boarding beyond 14 days from the agreed collection date may incur a boarding fee of £15 per day.

Deposit transfer

In exceptional circumstances, and entirely at our discretion, we may agree to transfer your deposit to a future litter rather than forfeit it. This is not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Your deposit confirms your place in the reservation queue. Placement within a litter (i.e. which specific puppy) is typically confirmed when the puppies are old enough to assess individual temperament — usually around 4–5 weeks.

Section 03

Purchase price

The full purchase price for each puppy is £800 (including VAT where applicable). This price is fixed at the time of reservation and will not change before collection.

Item Amount When payable
Reservation deposit £200 At the time of reservation
Balance £600 On or before collection day
Total £800

Payment of the balance must be received in full before or on the day of collection. We accept bank transfer (BACS) and cash. We do not accept cheques. We do not offer payment plans or financing.

A signed purchase agreement will be provided on or before collection day. Please retain this document — it forms part of your puppy's records and may be requested by your vet or insurance provider.

Section 04

What's included

Every puppy from Miles Maltipoo goes home with the following as standard. Nothing is an optional extra — these are included in the purchase price.

  • Microchip registered in the buyer's name with the relevant national database
  • First vaccination (date recorded in the vaccination booklet)
  • Veterinary health certificate from our registered vet, dated within 5 days of collection
  • Full written health record including worming and flea treatment dates and products used
  • KC registration paperwork (where applicable to the litter)
  • DNA health test certificates for both parents
  • A small supply of the puppy's current food (enough for the first few days)
  • A scent cloth from the litter to help with the puppy's transition into your home
  • Our puppy preparation guide in written form
  • Our contact details and an open offer of post-purchase support
Note on KC registration

Not all litters are KC registered. We will confirm at the time of reservation whether your puppy's litter is registered. KC registration does not affect the quality of the puppy or the terms of our health guarantee.

Section 05

Health guarantee

We offer a 5-year health guarantee against hereditary and congenital conditions that are covered by the DNA testing we conduct on our breeding parents. This guarantee is subject to the following conditions.

The guarantee applies if:

  • The puppy is examined by a registered vet within 48 hours of collection and any issues are reported to us within that window
  • The puppy has been kept under appropriate care — regular veterinary check-ups, appropriate vaccination schedule, suitable diet and environment
  • A formal veterinary diagnosis is provided confirming the hereditary or congenital condition
  • The condition is one covered by our DNA testing panel (a full list is available on our health guarantee page)

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Conditions arising from negligence, mistreatment, accident, or environmental causes
  • Conditions that develop as a result of inadequate veterinary care, vaccination failure, or failure to treat parasites
  • Minor conditions such as umbilical hernias, retained testicles (where not diagnosed as a hereditary pattern), or dental issues
  • Conditions that were disclosed or apparent at the time of the pre-collection vet check
  • Behavioural issues of any kind
Making a claim

To make a claim under the health guarantee, contact us in writing at hello@milesmaltipoo.co.uk with your puppy's name, the veterinary diagnosis, and supporting documentation. We will respond within 5 working days. Where a valid claim is upheld, we will offer either a partial refund or a replacement puppy from a future litter — at our discretion.

This health guarantee does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

Section 06

Collection

All puppies must be collected in person from our home in the Cotswolds. We do not use courier services, third-party delivery agents, or any method of transport that involves the puppy travelling unaccompanied. We believe this is the only responsible way to transfer a puppy to its new home.

Collection dates are agreed between us at the time of reservation. Puppies are generally ready to leave from 8 weeks of age, subject to their individual development and our vet's clearance.

  • You must bring a secure, appropriate carrier for the journey home
  • A responsible adult must be present to receive the puppy — we will not hand a puppy to a child or unaccompanied minor
  • Full payment of the balance must be received before the puppy leaves our property
  • You will be asked to sign the purchase agreement on collection
  • Please allow at least 45 minutes for collection — we go through everything carefully
Long-distance buyers

We understand that some buyers travel significant distances. We will make every effort to accommodate your schedule and will give you as much notice as possible of the collection window. We ask that you do not book non-refundable travel until the collection date is formally confirmed by us in writing.

Section 07

Your responsibilities

By purchasing a puppy from us, you confirm the following:

  • You are aged 18 or over
  • You have provided accurate information about your household, living situation, and lifestyle during the enquiry process
  • You understand that a Maltipoo is a living animal with physical and emotional needs and are committed to meeting those needs for the duration of the dog's life
  • You will register with a vet within 48 hours of collecting the puppy and attend the initial health check as required by our guarantee
  • You will continue the puppy's vaccination schedule as advised by your vet
  • You will not sell, rehome, or transfer ownership of the puppy without first notifying us — we ask to be given the opportunity to take the puppy back rather than have it pass to an unknown party
  • You will not use the puppy for commercial breeding purposes without our prior written consent
  • You will not subject the puppy to any form of mistreatment, and will seek veterinary attention promptly when needed

We take animal welfare seriously. If we have reason to believe that a puppy sold by us is being kept in unsuitable conditions, we reserve the right to contact the relevant authorities.

Section 08

Returning a puppy

We ask that if you are ever unable to keep your puppy — for any reason, at any point in their life — you contact us before rehoming them to a third party. We would always rather take a puppy back than have them go to an unknown home.

Returns are accepted at our discretion. Where we do accept a puppy back, no refund of the purchase price will be made unless the return is the result of an upheld health guarantee claim.

Change of circumstances

Life happens. If something changes and you need to return your puppy, please contact us first. We won't judge you — we just want to make sure the puppy ends up somewhere good. We maintain a waiting list and can usually find a suitable home quickly.

If a puppy is returned within 5 days of collection due to a condition identified at the initial vet check that was not disclosed to the buyer prior to collection, we will offer a full refund of the purchase price or a replacement puppy from a future litter.

Section 09

Limitation of liability

We take every reasonable step to ensure our puppies are healthy, well-socialised, and suitable for family life. However, we cannot guarantee outcomes that are beyond our control, and our liability is limited as follows.

  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from conditions that develop after collection and that are not covered by our health guarantee
  • We are not liable for consequential losses — including but not limited to veterinary costs for conditions outside the guarantee, or costs arising from the puppy's behaviour
  • Our total liability under any claim is limited to the original purchase price paid

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Section 10

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.

These terms were last updated in June 2026. We reserve the right to update them at any time — the version in force at the time of your reservation is the version that applies to your purchase.
